Great shot, Steve. I think that a Hoopoe is the epitomy of 'rare bird', such a brilliant bird to look at, better than some of these 'little brown jobs'.

Great shot Steve :t: I keep waiting for one to up my way again. I missed them last year, though I'd be happy with a sighting let alone such a superb photo as this.
Lassa8 - they are a Mediterranean species more commonly found in Spain.
