Michael, how about Cardamine Bulbifera for #2?

Yes I agree with C. bulbifera (Coral root) I suspect it is a naturalised garden escape. I know it to be a native of south eastern England

Thanks. I've found details on 1 + 3 as recognised by yourselves, but I can't find the Cardamine bulbifera with the same leaves as no 2. I'll take a picture next week to see if it is more recognisable when in full bloom, with a better picture of the leaves.

This is all so much more complicated than I expected. Where is the best place to start when trying to identify wildflowers? Their leaves/general shape/no of petals/shape of leaves/height? i.e. is there a method to it?

Thanks to all.

Hi, i donīt think the second one is Cardamine bulbifera, due to the wrong leaf shape and the slightly hairy looking stem in the inflorescence and the also perhaps slightly hairy leafs?

What about Hesperis matronalis for that one?allthough also for that it does not look perfect.
