Hi,

Can anyone tell me where to park to go and look for Woodlark at Budby Common.
I looked on birdguides and it said park at the end of the lane in budby village but I cant work out where that is.

thanks
Pete.

The lane I think that refers to is beyond the last farmhouse in village, it has a sign saying 'National Nature Reserve - no access' or something like that. Park there, then it's hardly half a mile walk up that track through the fields and you'll find the Budby Common opens out in front of you. There are several paths that transect the heath and it's just a matter of working you're way along them.
Not sure how many Woodlarks you'll find this late in the summer though. Myself I'm looking forward to searching for GG Shrike there a little later in the year.

(There are one or two other places away from the village where birders sometimes park but I think that's probably the safest.)
