Most home insurance will cover photographic equipment - I know mine does. Have you tried ringing them and asking. If they say no, then it may be time to swap to another company.

Like Frank says, most home insurance will cover photographic equipment but you will probably need a premium policy rather than a basic policy. My kit is covered for accidental damage away from the home under my contents cover. The extra premium for for this cover is normally less than taking out separate specific cover in my experience.

Agree with Frank....if you ask for them as additional named items on the insurance, it is normally an extra amount on top of your contents but this extra cover is up to about £5000.

On our previous insurers we had to name all the cameras, lens etc. But on our current one they have not requested it.

yep contents is cool, mine I have to specify any single item over £1500.00 but apart from that its all covered. More importantly it works as i found out earlier this year when my body and 500 hit the deck
