Does anyone know if this head would be good for digiscoping?

Yikes. It would make me nervous to have the scope off center like that. It looks like it gives the same balanced result as a Wimberley.

Lima, I have a larger Giro head which I think is only good for astronomy. Achieving smooth movements requires very precise tightening of the knobs, which is then lost every time the scope is moved from one location to another.

Have you seen the Gitzo G2380 fluid head? It has several nice features including a sliding mounting plate for quick rebalancing.
