Hi All.

I've heard an owl hooting in the woods behinds us and there is a sign in Coppetts woods stating that a Tawny owl resides there.
I'm just wondering if anyone else knows of any other sightings in North London.
I would love to be able to photograph these birds but I think it would be down to pot luck.

There are Tawny Owls in hampstead heath and regents park. Regents Park also has Little Owls. The Tawny owls in Kensington gardens are probably the easiest to photograph - see here:

The KG owls are much easier to see in winter when the branches are bare.

Assuming the KG birds breed again, the young should be out in February.

Dead easy to find and photograph - even an amateur can get half decent pics (http://countingcoots.blogspot.com/2009/02/heres-aluco-ing-at-you-kid.html)
