As the weather has turned is such a fabulous way in this part of the UK, and as this morning was otherwise accounted for, we decided to take a trip outback yesterday evening.

So the usual Saturday morning crew went out, to see what we could see.

Ultimately the list was quite short – I’m sure in some part due to my daughter being a complete gabble-ratchet all the way round!!! – but we got a few “nice” ones and one that surprised me by turning out to be a patch lifer.

There was much activity, and I would be interested to know how everyone else copes when there is just so much going on in the woodlands. Easily, we missed counting good numbers of birds we saw and heard, simply because they we moving around so much, or singing simultaneously.

Anyway, leaving at 7.15pm and taking a slightly shortened route, we got back at 8.30 with the list herebelow…
