As the nights are now getting very long, me and my good lady decided we would start trying to see if we can catch up with any of the owls on our outback.

Unfortunately, today was a little cooler than expected, and so we went a little earlier than we had hoped we might, but taking our chances.

Not surprisingly, there wasn’t that much about, other than a couple of overflyers returning to roost (including a likely but unided Redshank) and the last of the late stopper uppers.

So this list that follows is not bulging by any means, but our plans came to fruition, with an audible id of a Tawny Owl, and a visual id of our first Long-eared Owl of the year.

(Oh, and nine Rabbits and four Bats as well!)

Nice when your plans work out!
