Hey!

I'm buying all my Schwegler nest boxes 1 by 1 now so I'll have my garden set up for next year, that way I can afford them..

When does the nesting season start?

Anyway,

What should be the minimum distance between 2 nest boxes?

Can a feeder be placed next to another feeder?

Whats should be the minimum distance between a nestbox and a feeder/bird bath?

Does it matter how high a nest box is, as long it's higher than 1.5m?

Thanks..

Well the nesting season is now but unfortuantly for me no birds nest in my nestbox because I had a bee nest in there but it's all cleard out now I have seen some birds perch in the roof of it and on the perch so fingers crossed. Nestboxes shouldn't be to near eachother but you could put them in differnt parts in your garden, perhaps one on a wall the next on a tree that way you'd get differnt species. As for feeders I think you can have them near to eachother but Im not sure I have 2 one is on a tree and the other is on the tree opposite, I havbe taken one down because it got destroyed by squerrils and crows but I did send for a squrril proff feeder so lookking forward to that cumming hope that's ok for you

Happy Birding ;)
and good luck

Swiftley,
Place your nest boxes facing either in a North or West direction as the sun is at its coolest in those directions. Bird organisations often warn people not to place them in an Easterly or Southerly direction as the sun is at its warmest in those directions and may have an adverse impact on the eggs/young birds.
