Very Nice bird indeed !
Went back twice to see this, in the vain hope it would come closer but it didnt, hence the small but heavily cropped pic attached,
Really different feeding jiz than common sandpiper was the observation i made of the bird, particularly the crouching position when feeding
Stayed until late and bumped into Tom Mckinney
Sorry Reader that we didnt introduce ourselves ?
Next time maybe ?

Hi ya Paul
I don't even know how you managed to get that shot seeing how far away even the nearest point to the bird was.
I'm also sorry we didn't all get to say hello but I must admit that I was totally knackered by that time. I had been on the road since 03:30 that morning plus clambering down rocks at Fedw Fawr, walking along the shingle beach at Cemlyn, hiking around the area near to South Stack before finally totally knackering myself around the disused Padarn Slate Quarry. By the time I had reached the Spot Sand site I was almost out of it and didn't fancy my 80 plus mile drive home.
Apart from that it was a great end to an enjoyable day, which would have been even beter had I known who i was standing by.
I have met you before but, in my old age, I can't remember what you look like.
Were bound to run into each other at some point in time. Anyway, keep the excellent photos coming.

I wish to offer many thanks to Paul Hackett who very kindly 'gave' me a replacement Shutter release cable when mine broke with the excessive number of images I took of the Spotted Sand on my local 'patch'. It was only the second record for Cheshire and Wirral - the first was also at the 'Flashes' back in Sept 1980, although that was not in Summer plumage.
I will get a new cable this week and a spare as my family are heading over to Northern Spain for a two week holiday on June 27th (hopefully get a few nice images - so a spare cable release is essential)
Many thanks again to Paul, and I hope to meet you again very soon........to give you back your cable release !!!!!
