Which teleconvertor can be used with a Nikon ED AF Nikkor 300mm 1:2.8 with Nikon D70 ?
This is the older type 2.8 lens, and which one would still give me AF ?
All seems a bit confusing, has anyone else used their older lenses with the D70 ?
Any help much appreciated.

Hi Raggetty,
I use inexpensive Tamron AF TC14 with very good results on my D100. There are more expensive pro- series teleconverters and another ones made by Kenko. They have electrical connectors for the metering and allow you to maintain autofocus.
Cheers,
Wes

I suggest any Kenko Pro 300 converter: they will fit almost any DSLR/lenses and are optically as good as the Nikon counterparts. You can find a lot of threads on this subject on dpreview.

Do not worry about AF, since with a 2.8 basis, you will keep AF with both 1.4x and 2x converters.
