I need some help please, pretty quickly.
I need to know
a. what kind of seabirds one can expect to hear on the North African coast?
b. also, is there a particular seabird associated with this area?
Preferably, the birds should have a very distinct and loud call.
Secondly, is there a good website where I can check out the sounds of said birds?
Thanks in advance.

Cory's Shearwater at dusk while in the breeding season are very noisy and loud. Yellow-legged Gulls are noisy all day too. Check this website for their voices.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the call of yellow legged gull on the website link.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a site that contains the calls of said bird?
Thanks.

They sound much the same as Herring Gulls so I think you would know if you had heard them.

Thanks Steve.
Are there any more birds likely to be heard on the North African coast, besides the two already suggested?

Hi Helen , just had a look around my field guides and there are LOADS of sea birds to be found around the North Coast of Africa , many of them to be seen here as well , gulls , Terns , Gannets , Petrels to name but a few . Get a good guide that includes N.Africa and it will give you a better idea of what you are looking for .
Ashley.
