in the morning there was a lot of noise coming from a certain tree in my front garden...i went to check what it was..as i pulled back a branch about 15 long-tailed tits , a load of blue and great tits..a few goldcrests and a tit with a black cap(willow..marsh im not sure) came shooting out from it.They were all calling that high pitched noise(see-see-see etc) and my ears are still sore.
Also saw two blue tits "headbanging" is this courtship-or is it too early?..didnt seem aggressive at all:eat:

Not actually in my garden, but in the field the other side of the road - Skylark singing. With a projected max of 10 C tomorrow, spring is on its way. You can tell when it's spring - the rain's warmer.

for me the winter ends when:
- i realise i dont need 6 jumpers on when im outside
And the seagulls go back to the sea and stop living on my bird table (worse than squirrels)

Today the Dunnocks were clicking their wings and chasing eachother furiously in the tall hawthorn tree and the third male kept getting stern warnings from the resident. I thought good god it must be spring, hope there isn't a sharp frosty period if they get down to it.

All this talk of spring -- and tomorrow's high is predicted to be a blistering 13F.

I want it to be spring.....NOW!!!

(Oh, to be in England now that April's there......)

I agree with BeverleyBaynes!
It's warmed up to a balmy -25C this morning. You guys are making me jealous with your talk of spring being on its way. I still have to wait at least another 2 months yet!! This may be considered cruel and unusual punishment, you know. :)

Tomorrow is gonna be 12oC, not what I wanted cos the Gulls will probably dash off back to sea from the Midland when I have come here to see some!
