I seem to remember seeing "adverts" for a serious pelagic into Biscay next year but try as I can I cannot find any details.

Have I imagined it or does anyone out there know more about it?

Which is why my 2005 searches failed!

Many thanks.

Am I misreading their web site entirely or has their 2006 trip nearly sold out already?

Nope! You're right it is almost sold out. I'm booked, are any other BF's going?

Hi Darrell

not going this time but did it in 97 and 98 and would recommend it to anyone. One the first evening out of Plymouth we had a flock of 75+ Sabine's Gulls, LT Skua, Leaches Petrels, Grey Phals, Med Shears etc....We slept on deck after a heavy night in the bar and woke to rafts of hundreds of Great and Cory's Shears loafing alongside the ferry (well over 1000 in total). Couldn't believe my bleary eyes. Whales were well represented too but I'd need to check my notes to give you precise details (something like 11-12 cetacean species). Second year wasn't as spectacular but we did get Wilson's and best of all two Little/Audubon's shears right alongide the boat.

The sight of Whales for the first time is mind blowing and although I haven't heard of many trips as succesful as our first it always seems a worthwhil trip, plus you can stop off in northern Spain and do Picos for Wallcreeper and Snow Finch or head down to Zaragosa for Dupont's and Sandgrouse etc....

Hi Tim,

Sounds like you've had a couple of good trips. I've done the Plymouth trip a few times, and had much the same as you. I've also had Little Shear, Bittern!!! and a dead cow!

This trip goes from Falmouth and will spend a couple of days going up and down the deep water canyon where all the whales and birds are concentrated, rather than just going over one part of it as the regular ferry does. That's why I think it should be a really good experience.
