Could people please suggest some of the best places for me to go and view birds in Wiltshire. I live about 10 miles east of Devizes and I don't have a lot of spare time to get out and about, so the nearest spots and reserves to my location would be really welcome.

I already intend to give Cotswold Water Park a visit for the first time this weekend. Is that a good place and which bit of it should I visit?

Many thanks in advance for your suggestions.

See the thread "Where to go in wiltshire" at http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=19475&highlight=devizes
under BirdForum > Information Wanted > County By County Index [Archive] > South West England > Wiltshire
- which I'm about to add to a bit.

Savernake Forest and Jones Mill Reserve near Pewsy.( I think that's what it's called)
Along the K&A canal can be good.

Haxton Down in the winter (for Short-eared Owl, possible GG Shrike, Hen Harrier) was always a good day out as well as Larkhill on Salisbury Plain (Imber is also good when it is open - xmas/new year time).
