This was taken just outside of Charleston, SC, USA the spring following Hurricane Hugo.
These two males were fighting over the bird house.
What are the two species and which one won?

What are the two species and which one won?The top one is an Eastern Bluebird and I am going to guess the one it is sparring with is the same. These sweet looking birds will fight like dogs over nesting spaces.

You're right about the top bird. I'll give you a hint on the second bird: My yard is right above a creek.

I'd say the smaller one won, because the bigger one doesn't look like it could fit :P
As for it being a kingfisher... aren't those a bit bigger?

You got it.
The prothonotary moved in first but the Bluebird came in before the warbler pair laid any eggs and usurped their efforts. The two males battled on and off for two days before the smaller warbler finally gave up.
The bluebirds eventually laid 13 eggs and fledged 10 babies over three broods between March and August.
