It's been a long time since I've had time for any of these, but I found a short selection I never got round to posting before.
True to form, there is a connection.
I don't get as much chance to log on as I used, so if I am slow responding... do forgive me!
Here you go...
1. RATHER EAGER
2. ERWIN - EGOMANIAC!
3. REFRESHING IN KEG
4. NORWEGIAN CHOP
5. AROMATIC CONE
6. A NICE CRAVAT, MOE
7. PIERRE - TERRACE MENACE!
8. RURAL PARTHENON
9. AL REVERED A BEASTIE
10. TWO RODS, OK?

I think I may have spotted the connection although I am struggling with the anagrams. Is the connection that the names are the suggested revisions in nomenclature suggested by BB some years ago? I am guessing these are all the ones that were not adopted or have not taken on usage.

Not an anagram game but if you like sorting out jumbled words, you should get Yahoo's "Text Twist" (you can play it free online from Yahoo's home page or for $US20 you can own your own copy). It's a beat-the-clock word scramble and highly addictive. And equally frustrating since there are words that *are* words but its sometimes limited dictionary don't "allow." Still, it's a lot of fun. On my highest game, I couldn't shut my computer down for three days (since terminating the game before actually losing to the clock wipes out your score).
I didn't see this thread in time to play. You going to post another one, Birdman? Purty pleeze?

Well done everyone... and cheers Robin for confirming the connection.
Keep your eyes peeled, Katy... I'll see what I can do!
