Hello to to HelenB and everyone else especially anyone who I haven't noticed that I should have on this board!!
I live near the city of Gloucester in south west England and have been 'birding' for a number of years. I have just got into 'digiscoping' and have set up a couple of websites - www.colinbutters.com there is a link in this to the other one and there are a few pictures for viewing. I am also doing a part time course in natural history and I work as a volunteer about half a day a week for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge, Gloucestershire - on the banks of the River Severn. Look forward to some interesting topics etcs.

Hello Colin

Welcome to the bird forum. It must be at least 22 years since I visited Slimbridge. Wonder if its changed?

Hope you enjoy the site.

Thanks to everybody for the warm welcome.

to Burhinus- Yes, WWT Slimbridge has changed alot. The new centre complete with viewing tower is nearly 3 years old. Well worth a visit if you are in the locality.

to Silverstreak195 - Slimbridge is doing well now. It is much much better than the depressing times of the mid 1990's when moral was low and there was even less money around than there is now but cash is always a struggle. The Foot and Mouth hit hard with a case about a mile away - lets hope that doesn't come back.

Thanks again.
