I just bought a pair of Zeiss Victory 8 x 20 compacts and am very pleased with them so far. They are very clear and seem well made. They are manufactured in Hungary. Does that mean Zeiss makes everything in Hungary or is the glass nad the coatings still made in Germany? Does anyone know ?

Many Zeiss binoculars are made in Germany including the FL range. The glass for some if not all of their binoculars comes from Schott, part of the Zeiss group according to postings in an earlier thread. I think the Conquest range is made in Hungary.

Greetings!
The 8x20 and 10x25 Victory models are currently made in Hungary. The quality is exceptional... I wouldn't hold the country of origin against them based on the excellence of the end product.
Best wishes,
Bawko

Hungary is a very fine country indeed... no fears there.

Look at the Zeiss website and discover that bins are a very very small part of their worldwide organisation
