Hello Guys....
I have an old pair of Zeiss Jena that i love, and actually it is the
only pair of binoculars i have ever had since i started birdwatching
20 years ago when i was 14 (this long introduction since it is my
first post).
Anyway, since a few day the focusing wheel is much harder to turn,
not to say impossible. It came from nowhere...? I don't understand.
Can it be from the cold, can i do something, can i send them somewhere?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards.

Hi Raven,
On behalf of Admin and the Moderators welcome to Bird Forum :t:
I have pair myself but have never had this problem so I'm afraid I can't help with the problem but hopefully someone will be along soon who can.

Best regards. It will be something other than temperature, I'm afraid. But they are eminently repairable - a search on the internet should sort you out!

Hello Raven,
I only know about a service site in Germany, which repairs the old Zeiss Jena binoculars, even if the warranty period has expired:
please look at http://www.docter-germany.com/ , click on "English" (top right), then "Contact" (on the left). You will see a service address from Harald Ros:
Geräte-Service & Montage
Harald Ros
Coburger Straße 72
D-98673 Eisfeld
Feel free to contact him under harald_ros@t-online.de .
Docter Optics acquired a plant of Zeiss Jena in Eisfeld back in 1991.
I unfortunately don't know of any US sites which repair Zeiss Jena binos.
Greetings,
Infinity - Germany

I would recommend that you contact Redlich Binocular Repair. They have some experience with CZJ binos and can probably help. Here is their "site":
