Hi everyone,

I originally posted this on the general forum's page earlier tonight. I hope I havn't confused anyone!

I wonder if anyone has any experience with either of the 2 budget ED 80 scopes; the opticron ED 80 and the slightly more expensive Viking V-80 ED. I hope to choose between one of these 2 soon and will be using it for digiscoping. Does anyone have an opinion about which one has the better lense quality.

Any comments would be greatly received.

Regards,

Nick

well the Opticron ES80ED is a cracker, the HDF lens especially the 32WW is very fine and the zoom is good as well but .....

w/express have the Nikon ED78 with 38ww lens for £549, its not waterproof but a year ago this was a £1000 scope. The 30ww lens might be better for digiscoping I guess. Will work out more expensive than the 38

Thanks Pete..really good info!

w/express have the straight model for £399.00 just checked. And they do interest free too. I'll have to do a search and see if anyone has a gallery of pics with the Nikon.
