I've received conflicting information, can someone please confirm which Opticron SOC is the "best fit" for the ED78?
I've given up searching the web for one and cannot be bothered with ebay. The time has come to protect my scope at any cost. Is it the ES80 or Imagic80 which has the snug fitting case on the Nikon ED78? - or are they both the same?
Do they include a carry case/carrying handle? - all I have gleaned from Warehouse Express is the cost and little more info. - I'm even contemplating buying an Opticron scope with case just to get the case cheaper and have a second scope.

I have an Imagic 80 SOC for my ED78 and it is a very snug fit in both length and girth. I was told that the ES 80 SOC is a bit longer and overhangs the front of the ED 78. The Opticron case comes with a shoulder strap, which I do not use. I have a strap attached to my tripod and carry the scope attached to the tripod via the tripod shoulder strap. I got the SOC from Warehouse Express for £49 plus delivery and the strap for my tripod was about £10 When I bought my original scope and tripod from In Focus.

Thanks both, but once again conflicting information. From this is it fair to say then that they are not the same case?
Or
Is it a case that one person's snug/tight fit is another's overhang - assuming they are different cases.
On a different note, is the access to the focus ring ok, and in spite of being a mis-branded case (gggrrrr I hate you for that Nikon) does it do the job?
Protecting the scope has become more important than accesorising.
Anyone got a photo?

Access to the focus ring is available at the top and at the bottom of the scope, I use my fingers on the top of the ring and my thumb on the bottom. Picture of scope in case attached.

Thanks for that Bill - the Imagic 80 has been ordered. Not much option really. Perhaps the logo can be added later. However, the main thing is to protect the scope.
Warehouse Express did indeed confirm it was the best option.
Now just watch - a batch of them will turn up now -ED78 cases lol.
Thanks both
Steve
