new Nikon coolpixes: any good for DS ?

Nikon has announced 5 new coolpixes. Except the usual great macro abilities common to the series, I have not seen anything great for digiscoping from the specifications. However, the compact 7900 with its large LCD should be worth a try.

This is the first ive heard of them, pes. So i shall check them out. Thanks for the info.

I doubt it. That was the first thing I've checked. No lens thread, almost no manual control. It will not be easy to use them for digiscoping. A Canon A95, S70 or the CP8400 (which I've checked lately) are better choices IMHO.
