View Full Version : Don't come a cropper

Ghostly Vision

This has been seen by a few members offline, but has proven so difficult I am opening it up to the masses.

Five photos, all taken in the UK, cropped to death. You just have to name the five species.

As I don't visit as often as I used to, please be patient with me in answering your replies!! Also note I have my PM's switched off, too, so there can be no cheating....

Not quite sure where number 2 came from, but having looked at it more closely and at one of the other suggestions agree that it is of course a Dunnock.
Also agree with Andrew's number 3 + 5.

Hello everyone

Sorry not to have re-visited; Boradband seems not to have been working for four days, and I am sitting here watching the status bar crawling across the bottom of my screen every time I re-load a page.....

So far, one has not been identified correctly by anyone.

Scores are (with their relevant post no - if two no's, score is a combination of the answers or changes in those posts)
Mick C - 0/5 (46)
Jurij - 4/5 (62)
Mark N R 4/5 (49+61)
Dbradnum 2/5 (51)
Allen 3/5 (52)

Edenwatcher 4/5 (59) excellent first guess
Harry H 3/5 (58)

That should tell everyone that the only incorrectly answered species is no.3, which I knew would be tricky. One of you who has scored 4/5 has got the answer very very close though!!!!

Hi Jórn,

Have been having that problem myself intermittently. Sometimes when I have posted pics into a thread, the thumbnail looks completely different - ut hen you click it, the correct one comes up!! Something else I have noticed is that when a wrong pic comes up, it is usually one that I have looked at on BF at one point or another.

Determined to remind me I am <300 aren't you! Grrrr! Just you wait till I get that 300th bird! Suppose you will then call me <400? LOL.

Give us another round of tricky croppers.

Go on then, croppers coming later today.

Hey Andrew - change your subtitle then, or your name!!! Have to differentiate between you and Andrew W! Maybe you'll allow me to use "Andrew s300", a more subtle version?

Sean

GV.

Don't mind the <300 differentiation. It gees me up in this year's objective of breakign into the <400 "club".

Looking forward to the next selection.

38 minutes Mark. You can have a half-empty box of Quaker Oats, a pair of rubber gloves and some used suppositories to go with your prize.

Harry, I know you wouldn't have cheated, so you can have a banana skin, plus a CD-R that doesn't work but can be used as a coaster for hot coffee.

If I do any more of these rounds, all the crap out of my house will be gone.

Well Done Mark and Harry - answer pics coming in a bit.

Did you try to shove my Quaker Oats through the modem as I'm sure that wouldn't do it any good.

The box does say they can be uploaded provided one had a fast connection. But I fear it was Lou's coconut that did it.

And don't remind me - it's still kn@ckered

Ghostly Vision
Monday 7th March 2005, 14:40
No, Lou, when I tried to send your prize (the coconut) through my modem, it must have got stuck in the wires!!! Next time I will send by international courier.......

lou salomon
Monday 7th March 2005, 15:49
maybe you should try coconut flakes next time, mix them with the quaker oats for mark and shove the mixage through your modem for both of us - that mixage is tasty!

Mark,

Glad you did get the used suppositories, though. Seems they have had an effect on your hair growth hormones!!

Look over to the new cropper thread - back by popular demand!!
