WHAT AM I I am 14 - 19cm in length, I have a wing span of 30 - 35cm, Native to Southern Europe, My blackish tail looks like it has been stuck-on, Dark blue cap.

What am I?

Cryptic in colour, huge in size, never to be seen. Best clues are the black and white feathers scattered beneath the trees, once in a blue moon ghostly vision labours in silence.

Yeah, close enough - Eagle Owl actually, the feathers are actually of Coots and gulls, its main prey during the summer and usually the only sign I see of them for months on end

The only other wader I can think of with a "unique bill" would be the Avocet, but it is nothing like a Dunlin.
