It's a bit long and there's a lot of photos, but if you're interested you can read about our weekend in north west Norfolk HERE (http://www.homepages.mcb.net/wormwell/Articles.htm)

Nice report,

I'm off up there for a couple of days, as long as the weather holds looks like it will be a good time.

Enjoyed the report CJW it made me feel better on some of my dips that even you do too!(That was meant to show respect...but theres no emoticon for that...)
Thanks too for the photos somehow makes it all like we were there too.
Really like the Shorelarks...missed them when I was in Norfolk.

this reminded me almost exactly of my trip to norfolk about 2 weeks ago now #

its aabout time we saw that sammy eh then right on cue there she was!!

Also seeing superb views of the water rail not for from the path about 10ft!!!

The little egrets on the side of the boardwalk as you go to the sea!!!

also the bean goose exactly how we saw it and the egyptian and snow right next to the road !!!!

Going to chosley and dipping on the Lapland buntings and little owl but seeing the corn and yellowhammers!!!!

But i the only thing i can recall to in holkham was the amount of anoying goldcrests there must have been at least 20 but we were on the sea side of the woods and they were big woods where the birds would dissapear within a couple of micro secs and i diped on the shore lark

Going to stiffkey to see lesser yellow legs and it is right there in the channel straight ahead but i had a little treat to about 200+ golden plover coming in to roost!!!!!

an amazing day out with me been even more inexperinced birder than Rob getting 23 life ticks and several more year ticks.

Watcha CJ

lovely report and photos - glad you had a great time in the home of UK birding

a beer in the evening, after a hard day's birding on the north coast of Norfolk is just heaven.

Eagle, for Yellow-legged Gulls try Yarmouth/Gorleston seafront

Glad to see you had a good weekend Chris and you found the Shorelark and Snow Bunting. We also dipped on the Lapland Bunting and Little Owl,missed the Firecrest as well.Got the Yellowlegs though but it was that windy I could only manage a few decent shots out of all the ones I took.Did you go for the Black Redstart at Harpley? here's what you missed.

We didn't bother with the Black Redstart, Geoff - we've got two wintering about a mile from our house!

Glad you all enjoyed the report.
I'd forgotten what a lovely place NW Norfolk really is. If I were ever to move back to England, The Norfolk coast would be my preference!

Enjoyed the report and the photos, Chris.

That part of Norfolk would be my preference, should we ever decide to move back there, which is probably not that likely, but you never know.

Thanks for the report, Chris. It was most informative and helpful and the photos were a great addition to the narrative. I now need to arrange a trip to Norfolk and you've given me some good ideas.
