Hello there Nate and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum.

I've got 2 feeders out now in anticipation and another 4 feeders in the wings waiting patiently ;)

You're right. Watching the migration maps increases the anxiety but a good kind of anxiety. ;)

Hi, Nate! Welcome to BirdForum!

Just have to echo the sentiments already expressed: Hummers are way too much fun! Can't wait for them to re-appear for the season, too, especially the "Ruthless" ;) and the Broad-tailed hummers.

I started using "Ruthless" 3 years ago when I moved here and first watched these guys duke it out with everything that moved in the yard, but I've heard it used since by others who live elsewhere, so it must be a -- what's that called when things and people in disparate places simultaneously evolve? -- spontaneous evolution. LOL!

Hey, don't feel too hopeless. We've got amost 5" of snow on the ground and still snowing just now, and it was only supposed to be rain today and tomorrow. I've already swept off the deck and some of the ground so the Juncos can get in to feed for the last time today. Egads! What happened to the 60s (no, not the decade ;)) and spring we had yesterday?!?!
