I've received the Nikon D2X a week ago after a long wait. A great camera that reveals a lot of details. This evening I've tried it first time for digiscoping. There's a partial moon up there in the sky. This camera has MLU (mirror lock up) which dramatically reduces camera vibration due to mirror flap.
The setup was the camera, a 45mm/2.8 P Nikkor lens, an adapter, the Leica Apo 77 scope and a x20-60 eyepiece.
This picture was taken at full x60, hence the little softness. I've used a Gitzo 1348 tripod and a Wimberley Gimbal head - my standard support for long telephoto shooting.
Combined focal length is 45x60x1.5 (crop factor)=4050mm.
I'll try it in the high speed mode in the coming days, where the crop factor becomes x2.
Here's the picture:

And here is another one with a smaller magnification (the eyepiece was set to x40 approx.):

Hi Chris,
Here's another sample shot taken with the camera. The large red rectangle is a 1:1 crop of the small one. The picture speaks for itself.
