Bob,
I'm assuming that you talking about American Robins (that's what we have here in PA). I don't think that they will use a typical nest box (one that has an entrance hole). They may use a nesting shelf which is exactly what it sounds like, a shelf with a roof over head. Just do a Google search on "bird nesting shelf". As far as food goes, I always see robins picking earthworms out of the ground (I've never seen one at a feeder). If you really want to attract them, you may try making a shallow tray, fill it with some ground and stock it full with earthworms or other insects...that may work. If it does, let us know.

Yes, they are american Robins. Is it too late to put a nest shelf for them???

HI Bob,
I always found that mowing the lawn did enough attracting for Robins as far as food goes! The vibrations of a mower are similar to a heavy rain which inevitably brings the earthworms to the top.
I am sure you are still in good condition to put out a nest platform for the Robins. It is still early enough.
