Anybody tried digiscoping with this camera? The f2.8 constant aperture throughout the zoom range sounds attractive. Am I right in thinking that it needs a 72mm adapter? I have a 52mm adapter which I may be able to mate via step rings.

Cheers

Not a good choice for digiscoping. The constant f2,8 is great for letting in more light but the lens is far too wide causing excessive vignetting. You can use the camera optical zoom to zoom out the vignetting but then the magnification is way too powerful for the optics leading to very soft grainy and barely recognisable images.

Of course if you have a scope with a 72 mm eyepiece then it may work but don't forget to use an adapter to protect the lens as it's an external zoom!

Thanks Ian. Just a thought when I saw the constant f2.8 aperture
