I recently put up a nesting box in my garden and within a day there were bluetits hanging around it. Over the past week there have been at least two bluetits flying in and out of it all day and sometimes staying in it for a while. When i've checked the box at night, it's been empty with no signs of any nesting material(unless it is still too early) Do you think I have potential nesters? There has also ben a starling attempting to go in the box although the hole is way too small!

sounds like it.

we put up a box (+ camera) about 3 wks ago, they spent about a week going in and out (one bird was roosting) then started nest building, been stuffing the box with moss and grass for last 10 days, will be surprised if there's any room left in the box with the amount that has gone in :h?:

I certainly think you have potential nesters. They will check several sites before deciding
which one to use. It's a magical moment when they do start bringing in nesting material.

No doubt the Starling has seen the BT's visiting the box and is looking for an easy meal.
