I own a Swarovski AT80 and just want to document some birds I see.
Now one can buy some cameras that produce great normal pictures for around 100£. They have 4 MP and 3x zoom.
Is it possible to get a reasonable picture with a camera for around 100£?
Or is it impossible to even get a picture with some cameras?

Have you tried ebay? I got a nikon coolpix 995 with 128mb card with original box for £148 inc postage. I do not know if the sellars will post to Sweden but it is worth a try. I use mine with a Leica Apo and digimount adapter. I am not gripping you off but i got some brilliant pics of the Stafffs (UK) Belted Kingfisher last week and I have only had the camera 3 weeks so im still learning fast.
I hope this helps and good birding.

Hi Stroggler..........I just ordered a Nikon Coolpix 4200 pretty cheaply and am going to try it for digiscoping over the next few weeks. Dunno about how much in Euro-land but it was under 100 GBP here in Japan.
There's another thread about a universal digicam adaptor in the digiscoping forum at the moment that seems to imply it IS possible to digiscope with cheaper cameras and you don't need expensive equipment to connect the camera to your scope...........check the thread out.
Of course I doubt cheap cameras will provide comparable images to expensive cameras but that's stating the obvious! Like you I'm interested in "record" shots and am not so bothered about ultra high quality pics.

I ordered a HP R507 for only 140£ and have already got some results on my first day as a digiscoper.
The first picture is with the cameras 3x optical zoom, and the second through my Swarovski AT80.
The original images are much bigger.

Hi Stroggler,
you have proved it is possible & it will become easier to pick up cheaper camera's as the prices are still coming down.
I have just purchased a new Canon A95 for £178, you could get a previous model like the A75 for £131.
The problem if your on a budget is with the extras. Unless you hand hold the camera or make your own adapter, a cable holder, shutter release cable & scope adapter will add at least another £60.
