Taken from that link - "The Scottish Gamekeepers' Association said hen harriers should be encouraged to nest in areas where they come into conflict with grouse moors." Surely that must be a typo?

That's right. Rub it in. However, my building is clad in scaffolding from head to foot at the moment, and should be for about a month more, so I plan to do some rooftop scanning in the next couple of weeks.
Saw Marsh Harrier from the kitchen window last year and Osprey is a deffo possibility. I love visible migration over built-up areas in any case.

Yes, Circus cyaneus. Slight plumage differences but otherwise the same.

This is all good news. It has taken years of grinding away at unsympathetic keepers. I saw a Black Grouse from the A9 the other day so maybe things are looking up.
