Barnacle Goose in Brum

Cycling to work on Saturday I went round the local pool and was very surprised to see a Barnacle Goose on it. Just the one, amidst all the Canada. It was still there when I came back. Just been back this morning and have managed to photograph it.

there is quite a large feral population in north west england and at one site up to seventy birds are present. i have seen them breeding at four sites in cumbria and are now fairly well established. most seem to be from collections and have been released or escaped but there numbers seem to be increasing
