Given the helpful outpouring in response to my winter query, I was hoping to get some more tips on the best places for the following, as I will be back in Norfolk en route to Scotland for a few days in a week or two

Most Importantly:
Honey Buzzard
Nightjar
Willow Tit
Lesser Whitethroat
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker
Quail
Woodcock
Grey Partridge
Hobby
Tawny Owl (if anyone knows an area where a nest is and wouldn't mind letting me know I swear on the holliest of all Bibles that Im no egger, and would never disrupt or disturb a bird)

Also the more mundane:
Garden Warbler
Turtle Dove
Wood Warbler
Spotted Flycatcher

You may see (or hear!) all of these but the Honey Buzzard around the woods by Thetford. You should go before dawn to Linford Arboretum. This may be so good!

Never been there myself but the Wensum valley watchpoint is said to be the place for Honey Buzzard ... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/r.d.thomas/Wensum.pdf

Hobby i'd have thought possible in the same place, if not it's definitely worth a look round the Yare valley maybe at somewhere like Strumpshaw Fen RSPB (or Wheatfen Broad .... http://www.wheatfen.org/ ... if you want somewhere really quiet). Turtle Dove, Garden Warbler & Spotted Flycatcher both in the same area

Tawny Owl .. hmm ... i've heard them in the same general area but never actually looked for one there, so maybe ....

Good luck
