I'm totally new here so assume I'm doing the right thing by saying Hello.I'm also new to wildlife and bird photography having concentrated on the man-made metaly flying things up until now. At the moment my longest lens is a Canon 75-300 IS on a Canon 20D and this seems fine although I'm looking for something longer (like the Sigma 170 -500) and would welcome any "advice" from good photographers here.
I'm off to Skoma island in a couple of weeks in the hopes of securing some decent pictures of puffins and other sea birds. Any advice on the Welsh islands would also be welcome. (fine to send e-mails if you want).

Hi Kmkan, welcome to Bird Forum. Sussex is my second home - my brother lives in Bognor.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to help you with your questions, but if not try posting in the relevant Forums.

Hi there Kman and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum.

You might want to put "Sigma" into the search field in the Gallery and it should bring up any photos taken with Sigma lenses and you can do some judging from there. Enjoy and don't be afraid to ask any questions you might have.

Hi, Kman! Another warm welcome to you from BirdForum!

If you'll post a query under the "Information Wanted" forum on Skoma Island and/or Welsh islands, you'll undoubtedly get a wider response.

Look forward to your participation here! :t:
