Bluebirds

Has anyone here attracted bluebirds to a yard with very little open land? I know open land is their primary habitat, but I'm wondering if anyone has had success with them nesting in a yard with little open land. I appreciate all answers.

Pat, I've got a lot of trees in my yard and they nest there. There are areas nearby that are more open, but they come to my yard to bug and to eat from my feeders. I don't have any specific advice for you on how to attract them because they were already hanging out and took up nesting as soon as I put out boxes. However, I encourage you to put up a nest box and maybe put out food to try to bring them in. Make sure there is a water source too as they love water. Good luck and keep us posted.
