Hi just getting into bird watching, have outgrown a very useless pair of cheap binos. At a recent brid fair at Brandon we liked the 10x42 Roof Ultralite. Has anyone got them , I beleive they are supposed to be improved and are available in blue or grey go faster bits on them.
Everthing we have read so far seems to point towards them been ok, but if anyone can help a novice like myself we would be grateful.
Thanks for reading.

Hallo,
Do you know what the difference is between these and the 8,5x44 (828 HHS)? Are they in par optically?

Actually they are a new model. I imagine that some folks won't care for the nontraditional colors. The last issue of Cornell's "Living Bird" had a very positive take on them.
I didn't realize Swift was sold across the pond.

Hi Patric
Just saw your query. I do not own the pair you mention, but at a recent Bird Fair I had opportunity to try a pair, and I must say they were good. If it were not for the fact I want a slightly stronger pair, i.e. 10x42 I would have had these that you have mentioned.
There may be someone who may pick faults with them technically, but I can only speak as I find.
Hope that helps.

Dear Bill
Thanks for your reply. A bit new to the scene, so I dont know how long they have been on the market in the UK. Tried several at a recent Brid Fair and found them excellent. Only picked the 10x42 Ultralite Roof becuase they were stronger than some, lighter than some and slightly smaller than the traditional format.
Yep I can see what you mean about the colours, but they are not too bad, hasnt put me off anyway.
Thanks again for replying, speak again soon possible.
