Hi
I am currently using Canon A95 for digiscoping with vairying degrees of sucess!.
I us N-mh rechargable batteries, but only get about 60 frames from a set of 4. I have tried a different set with similar results ! This seems to me to be a very short life - and I was therfore wondering what other users have experienced !.
Thanks in advance

I have a Canon A510 which is similar I believe and have noticed something a bit odd with the batteries I also use N-mh rechargables, the little change batteries message comes up after what only seems a short time and I have found that if I undo the battery clip for a moment then do it back up I get another lease of life from the same cells, no idea why this should be, try it and see if the same thing happens.

What capacity are the batteries, David?
The cheaper ones are 1300mA, but now you can get 2500mA that presumably last much longer

I can take hundreds of pictures with a set of 2100 mAh NiMh batteries. I usually have the LCD screen on for a couple of hours during a digiscoping session. To me the A95 battery life seems ok!
Maybe you can try to clean the ends of the batteries each time you insert them, it could be a matter of bad contacts. Or buy a fresh set of batteries, as any rechargable battery will wear out eventually.

Even 1800mah NiMh batteries seem to last forever in my A95...

Thanks for the input guys.
I am currently using 1300Mah batteries, I will treat myself to a new set at 2100 as suggested by Erwin and see how we go.
Souds like the batteries could be done for or the charger - here's to the process of elimination.
thanks again to you all

2100mAh should be ok, but people should bear in mind that some 2300mAh (and upwards) are just a teeny, weeny bit bigger diameter than the standard for AA. Depending how tight a fit the battery compartment is, you may find that some 2300mAh brands don't quite fit.
Only sure-fire way to tell if the 2300's will fit is to take the camera into the shop, and do a trial fit as there's sometimes a bit of variation from batch to batch.
Best value I've found for Ni-MHs in the UK is Maplin's.

Hi fr0sty
I don't know how much they are in Maplins but I bought my Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (2300mAh) for my A95 from www.directfoto.co.uk for £6.99 p+p free...
And they last for ages.
