I finally took the plunge yesterday and purchased the Olympus 7070wz and a Raynox adapter to fit on my Swarovski DCA scope adapter ( I already had this adapter and it comes with a 28/37/43/52mm screw threads ) for the 20-60zoom eyepiece. It's been raining all day today here in Hong Kong so I haven't had a chance to digiscope birds yet but I took some test photos out of my apartment window at about 150meters. The camera has nice features ( I wanted 7 megs and RAW Mode and didn't want to lose the speed I've got used to with the Kyocera. The first three photos in the attached composite were taken at the 20x end of the zoom and the last one at 60x and full zoom in the camera. I hope to be posting some bird photos if this rain ever stops. Neil.

Thanks for that Neil. I must admit that I have always preferred the colour rendition and sharp lenses on Olympus digitals. I had the C2000Z an early predecessor of this design and still have the C2100UZ now 4 yrs old and still going strong.

The results so far look promising :t:

Thanks for the info.
What is the minimal zoom setting without vignetting?

I got out despite the rain today to test out my new OlympusC7070wz on birds. I was very pleased with it's handling, speed and quality of lens and lcd. I was surprised how fast it focused, up there with my Kyocera SL400R.With the Swarovski DCA adapter the vignetting disappears around 3x on the zoom. I'm still getting used to the swivle lcd as it's not as intuitive as the rotating camera body used by the Kyocera and the CP4500. Even at iso400 the noise level was acceptable and with use of the Noise Filter in Photoshop Elements 3.0 , as good as the iso 100 on the Kyocera. I've posted some photos in the Gallery today but here is one of the first photos I took this morning in the rain.Neil.

Neils results posted in Yahoo's DigiscopingBirds nudged me in this direction also. My preliminary results are promising, but it does seem that the camera needs a couple more mm of eye relief than the typical Coolpix camera. But the out of camera image quailty is very good and the camera is more responsive.

Here are two links to an early attempt. The first is a 100% unprocessed crop. The other is cropped, levels adjusted, sharpened a bit and then resized.

"Scope" is a Rubinar 1000mm lens.

I have had a hollydays trip in Madagascar with C-7070 and a Sharpshooter magnifier x 8.
The results are quite bad, because I needed zoom x4 without tripod for no vigneting images.
Now, I want to buy an adapter for Zeiss Diascope 85, ocular 20x60, some recomendation?.
I would like so to buy a remote o cable shooter for this camera, someone has ideas?.
Sorry for my bad english.
