This was on BOU_Birdtalk this morning :

'The 2 Ospreys reported at Loch Garten on Wednesday (March 12) were NOT returning birds. I spoke to Richard Thaxton, the Loch Garten Centre manager, on the 13th and he stressed there was no sign of any around that day. His view was that they must have been just passing through the area en route to Scandinavia.
He said Loch Garten birds normally return around March 27 or 28.

Last spring, of course, the regular male failed to return and by the time the female found a replacement it was too late in the season for nesting to occur. Fingers are now well crossed for the coming spring.

Other Ospreys reported on BirdGuides Online so far (up to and including March 15 and with the most recent first) were:

March

15th: Osprey (N Yorks) Lower Derwent Valley (flew over this evening)
13th: Osprey (Norfolk) flew W at Langham, 10.10
9th: Osprey (Beds) Whipsnade Zoo (over Bison Hill during afternoon, then over zoo)
9th: Osprey (Manc'r) Sharples, Bolton (heading N towards Jumbles, fairly low)
3rd: Osprey reported over Cheshire

February

21st: Osprey (Somerset) Horton 16:00 (seen between here and Ilminster in same location as twice before in last two weeks). On post on N side of rounadabout, 20-25 feet from roadside
