Some questions and how does this sound?

As a setup:

Nikon 82 ED, Coolpix 990 or 4500, 24/30 wide eyepiece - any advice?

How is the attachment kit and adaptor at Eagleoptics? I saw that the 4500 Coolpix uses a different adaptor than the 990? Can you use the 990 with fixed eyepieces? I believe that you can't use it with zoom eyepieces?

Thanks for the advice...

Both the CP 990 and 4500 have 28mm filter threads on the lens so you should be able to use the same adaptor.

I use the Nikon Digital Camera Attachment for Fieldscope and the Nikon F/S-CP9xx attachment ring to attach my CP4500 to my ED82 scope. The instruction leaflet says that this set-up also compatible with CP900 series and the following eyepieces;

60/75x wide MC
40/50x wide MC
30/38x wide MC
24/30x wide MC
20-60/25-75x MC II (not compatible with CP 900 series)

The Nikon equipment is very well engineered but expensive (cost me about £80).

I can't comment on the Eagleoptics adaptor.
