I'm still a bit of a novice and could do with spending time with more experienced birders.
The only local birdwatching club I know of meets on Tuesday evenings, the one night I can't make.
Does anyone know of any alternative groups meeting on a different night in the Sutton area?

Hi Kevin,
Sorry, I can't help directly with your query, but I do know that there is a Surreybirders web-site.... Might be worth a try on there...
...or maybe the RSPB might have a listing of their local groups??

Hello Kevin & welcome to Birdforum, I'm actually in Sutton! Not sure about evening meetings but the following may be useful....
The Surrey Bird Club ( www.sbclub.ukonline.co.uk ) do occasional field trips which would probably be useful, and I'd recommend signing up for SurreyBirders ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Surreybirders/ ) to get local information and advice sent to you via email.
The only organised birding outing I've been on was a dawn chorus event arranged by Surrey Wildlife Trust ( www.surreywildlifetrust.co.uk ), I think they have fairly regular field trips and events.
Good Luck,
Dylan.
