Not a (very) hard one I think, two over the land today - one a regular, the other new for the locality. Who's who?

Ah Aplomado, almost slips off my tongue! Er, sorry not ;)

Nobody has named the one of them yet, the other has been named correctly.

Red footed Falcon?

A little too large and 'heavy-headed', wouldn't you think? :)

Late to this, so I get the benefit of others' thinking, but here goes:

Marsh Harrier and Hobby? Would be surprised if this is right, given apparent sizes, but you never know with photos!

Agreed but I originally thought it was a Peregrine and I am pretty sure thats a Marsh Harrier. Wondered if it might be that the falcon (?) is actually closer to you than it looks.

Agree totally - if it is Hobby or similar sized, then it's got to be an illusion that they're tumbling together... Who said the camera never lies?!

They are tumbling together, no real size illusion here (or at least not much of one).

Jules, something very interesting in your earlier post - a hint towards the identify of this bird

OK, I went for Hen H & Peregrine because first answer was 50/50 and I was pretty sure about the Peregrine! Looking again, the Harrier is a Marsh, surely - so the other bird is not Peregrine or Saker; surely not a Lanner, by location?
One bird I find can look very peregrine-like (to my eyes at least) is Goshawk! However, pic doesn't look much like one. I'll guess Marsh H & Goshawk anyway, just to move this along, as I'm keen to know the answer!

Spot on Sir,

It is indeed a Goshawk that attracted the attention of the Marsh Harrier. Usually get two or three Marsh Harriers quartering the land, but it is the first Goshawk so far (but not a surprise as they are fairly common in the area and I see them reasonably regularly over my garden and on my local patch).

For any non-believers, a slightly more typical pose shown below.
Congratulations too to Jules for being the first to question whether it was in fact a falcon

I can now go to bed a happy man!

Wish my garden had such a raptor display - still I really can't complain (I'll explain one day ;-) )
