Yes, that certainly is great news. I think many Neotropical ornithologists were pretty sure it still was out there on that remote mountain, but it is great news nevertheless. For now the habitat seem fairly safe due to its remoteness, but the future is an unanswered question. I could see it developing into a real birding destination, thereby providing additional income and yet another incentive for the locals to preserve it. It is one of the few places where it seems E. Slope forest all the way down to the lowland still is largely intact! Even without the Currasow it's an amazing place with many interesting species - not at least the endemic Tangara.
