Do you often get fleeting glances of birds that you cannot identify & just see the legs. This may help narrow down the species:

Geese,
Greylag & Pinkfooted. Pink Legs,
Bean White front & Lesser white front. Orange legs.

Plovers
Ringed. Bright Orange.
Little Ringed. Dull Flesh Brown.
Kentish. Blackish to dark Grey. Juv Dull Orange, yellow.


Gulls & Terns

GBB Pinkish legs,
Lbb Summer bright yellow Winet Dull creamy


Passerines

Lesser Whitethroat Steel Grey.
Common Whitethroat Pink
Reed Warbler Grey

Marsh warbler Flesh Brown.

Waders

Green Sandpiper, Grey Green

Wood sandpiper, Pale Flesh

Purple sandpiper Yellow,

Turnstone, Orange

Little stint. Black

Temminks Stint Olive Yellow

Sea Birds
Guliiemot Grey Black.
Black Guillimot Red


Pipits
Rock pipit, dark grey

Meadow pipit pure orange.

Tree pipit Pinkish

Colin,
Thats really useful stuff. Luckily, birds by dint of their circulation sytem whereby they can short circuit the blood supply going down and back up their legs in cold conditions, such as standing in cold water, do not lose heat from their extremities in these situations and thus do not have the problem that occur with my feet, viz, they are red when they are hot and blue when they are cold...lol
