I'm off to Norfolk on monday for three days of intensive birdwatching.
My plan is day 1; Titchwell in the day, then Dersingham bog late afternoon evening. Day 2, Cley all morning, Holkham in the afternoon, Snettisham at 6pm as the tide comes in. Day 3 Holme in the morning, Abbey farm on the way home in the afternoon. Anybody know if there's anything unusual about at the moment I should keep my eyes open for. It's my first visit to Holme, Dersingham, Cley and Abbey Farm so not sure what they're like.
I don't get to go away very often so I'm making the most of it! will need a few days off work to recover when I get back. :gn:

Nessie,

Abby Farm can be a little gem, kingfisher, little owl (check the oak tree opposite the hide, usually to the left of the main trunk in the trunk lying on its side or the wood pile about 50' to the left of the oak tree), turtle dove, bullfinch, blackcap. to name just a few. Cley is great, don't forget to check out seawards for any passage birds passing through. All I can say is have a great time in our county.

Thanks Pete, I found the Abbey Farm website and was quite impressed, would be great to see the owls.

Another question; any advice on good places to eat or pick up a snack, this is all on a tight budget. Have so far found Cookies Crab Shop in Salthouse but other suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Nessie,

There are the usual, fish & chips, take-aways etc at Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-sea. The Red Lion pub at Stiffkey is a quaint watering hole and does good food at a reasonable price, ideal at the end of a busy day birding.

Great, thanks. I'm itching to get there now. I often go to Titchwell for the day and never want to come home. Staying up there for a couple of days is going to be even more fun.
