Can someone tell me the difference/use for UV and Skylight filters? TIA...

Well...
Both filter out UV light but a skylight filter is slightly tinted with yellow or pink to add a warming effect and a UV is not.
<EDIT>
I also have this: http://www.mat.uc.pt/~rps/photos/filters_uv_pol/faq.html (http://www.mat.uc.pt/%7Erps/photos/filters_uv_pol/faq.html), from a while back (from when I had questions like this), it may help you out.

Yes, I had several Skylight filters (1A and 1B) way back in my film/SLR days and they all imparted a pink tinge to the image - most noticeable in clouds. I didn't like the effect at all and would recommend using a UV(0) filter every time. If, for any reason, a particular photo requires a pink cast over it, then it can easily be added later with any of the photo editing programmes available today.
