200kb is the actual limit! And maximum size is 800x800 pixels (in fact 600 pixels high is usual enough otherwise you might have to scroll up and down to see it all)

presumably you've got Photoshop Elements installed - go to Image>resize>image size and make sure both 'constrain proportions' and 'resample image' boxes are ticked.

Select 72ppi resolution and then alter the image size in either of the top boxes (800pixels wide will automatically resize the depth to 533 on a full frame imge, for instance)

Now go to File>Save for web and click the arrow in the 'quality' box and a slider will show - move this to alter the file size which appears under the right hand image until you get the desired file size. Anywhere between about 40 and 80Kbs should be OK

Hi Nigel,
You will need to alter the size and resolution (probably) of the shots in either Adobe Photoshop or Elements or similar photo editing software.

I usually start by reducing the pixel dimensions of the longest side first, to something like 500ppi. When you save the file, save it as a .jpg and a small to medium format. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I am not so hot myself!!
I'm sure we have plenty of members who will be able to offer more in depth knowledge than I. Good Luck!

Easy simple way, right click on photo, from list that appears click on resize

If doing photos singly is too slow and tedious, you can do the same thing using File > Batch Processing.

Create a folder of the images you want to do first. Better sorted into Landscape and Portrait.
