lens scope?

Hi i have seen alot of articles on connecting cameras to scopes etcbut can anyone tell me if you can use a telephoto lens as a telescope, i have a canon 600f4 lens which i use in hides what is the theory of using it with eyepieces to create a great spotting scope,is there a way of connecting eyepieces to it ?any input would create a interesting discussion on this subject of experimenting thanks paul

I have the same problem. Some years ago (20?) I bought an eyepiece for my Pentax lenses from Vivitar (I think). All that equipment was then stolen from me. Now I have Canon lense and I have tried to by a similar eyepiece but could not find any. Why?
It seems it should sell.
